Muriel E. Palmgren, 75, of 548 Marmac Drive died at 8:05 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born May 10, 1920, in Glasston, N.D., to James and Anna Pethick Norgart, she married Howard T. Palmgren on Jan. 15, 1937, in Galesburg. He died March 13, 1992. One brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey of Alexis and John of Galesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Diane) Eager of Galesburg; two brothers, M.J. and L.R. Norgart, both of Sanford, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.

She was a bookkeeper at Palmgren's Floor Covering in Galesburg for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First Christian Church, Galesburg Junior Women's Club, Galesburg Women's Club, American Legion Post 285 Auxiliary and Galesburg Cosmopolitan Club.

She won bowling trophies and played golf at Lake Bracken Country Club.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. David Seitz will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Hinchliff- Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
