Joseph Wesley Sinclair
Joseph Wesley Sinclair passed away quietly in the Palliative Care Unit of the Assiniboine Hospital on June 11, 1990. Joe was born on September 9, 1902 in Glaston, N.D. the son of William and Minnie Sinclair. At age two, he moved with his family to Lampman, Sask. In 1933 during the Depression, he moved to Manitoba where he met and married Violet North in 1938. Together they farmed in the Brookdale and Ingelow districts until 1962 when they moved to Brandon. Joe cared deeply for his family and neighbors and the land he worked for so many years..
He is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Nonie; three brothers, Archie, Bill and Fred; daughter Marvella and son-in-law, Bill Gill.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Violet; daughter Louise Hume (Dennis); son Russell (Kathy); grandchildren, Karen Erickson (Brian) Kathy Mears, Jo_Ann Hume, Robert, Evan and Kym Sinclair, Barry Gill (Marnie), Lance Gill (Lori); great grandchildren Cory, Cassey, Reann Mears, Meaghan Erickson, Dana Stephan, Larussa, Lynn and Lacy Gill; brother Dan and sisters Alma, Vera and Thelma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, 1515 Sixth St. on Thursday, June 14 at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Brandon cemetery. Rev. Dorrie Archibald officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, 42 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B2, Arrangements were with Brockie-Donovan. Organist was Jewel Dinsdale. Soloist, Gearld Parrot and ushers Evan Sinclair and Brian Erickson.
Pallbearers were Robert Sinclair, Ken Mitchell, Barrie Gill, Edwin May, Rod Baker and Robert Mitchell.
