Services will he held at 3 p.m., Thursday at the Hall-Van Hook Funeral Chapel for Etta Hanna, 100.
She died Monday in a local convalescent hospital.
She was born June 29, 1892, to John and Elizabeth Littlejohn of Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.
When she was 5, her family moved to Bowesmont, N.D., where she attended school.
She was employed as a domestic in the Glasston and St. Thomas areas before marring John Herman Hanna in 1904.
The couple were grain farmers in North Dakota and one of the first to operate and own mechanized farming equipment.
In 1940s, the Hannas moved to Chico. John Herman Hanna died in 1943.
Mrs. Hanna worked during the canning season at the Gridley cannery and during the rest of the year as a waitress in various restaurants in Chico, such as White Elephant, Cliff House, Mac's Chicken Shack and Burton's Coffee Shop.
Her family held a surprise 100th birthday party for Mrs. Hanna at the home of her grandson, Gene Hanna, on July 29, 1982, in Chico. She received congratulatory letters from President Ronald Reagan. then Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr., Rep. Gene Chappie, R-Calf., Chico Mayor Mardi Worley, state Sen, Ray Johnson, and then Lt. Gov. Mike Curb.
Survivors include two daughters, Elda M. Nelson of Chico and Minerva J. Smith of Stockton; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Charles Buchanan of the Evangelical Free Church will officiate at the services.
Casket bearers will be Raymond Hanna, Virgil Nelson, Ellsworth Nelson, Eugene Hanna, Gearld Nelson, Lyle Kargel and Kevin Casebeer.
Burial will be in the Chico Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
